FROM ALPACA TO YOUR DOOR:
THE JOURNEY OF YOUR BELLEPAGA PIECES

Behind every BellePaga piece lies a journey: that of alpaca fiber harvested in the Andean highlands, where breeders preserve know-how passed down from generation to generation. This precious and rare fiber is then carefully sorted, spun and crafted by skilled hands, respecting the artisanal traditions that give our creations their true value.

Once crafted, each piece begins a long journey of its own, crossing continents and borders before reaching you. From the mountains to your door, nothing is left to chance: every step matters, and every hand that touches it leaves a little of its know-how behind. We believe that wearing a BellePaga piece means wearing a story.

That is why we invite you to follow its journey with us, step by step: from the origin of the fiber to its creation, through its journey to its delivery to your home.

ALPACA FARMING IN PERU

It all begins on the South American continent, where small camelids known as alpacas live.

For thousands of years, most alpacas have lived freely in the Andes Mountains, at altitudes of up to 4,880 meters. They face extreme temperature changes, ranging from -20 to +30°C in a single day, which has led them to naturally develop a fleece made of thermoregulating natural fibers.

ALPACA WOOL HARVESTING

A crucial step in the production process of your BellePaga product takes place every year between April and June: harvesting the fiber during the alpaca's spring shearing.

Alpacas must be sheared every year for their health and comfort. Alpaca shearing produces up to 3 kg of wool, compared with an average of just 150 g for a cashmere goat. Harvesting its fiber is therefore much more environmentally friendly.

SORTING AND WASHING THE FIBER

The fiber selected for our products is Baby Alpaca fiber. It is one of the finest alpaca fibers, ranging between 18 and 22 microns, and represents the softest part of the adult animal. It is harvested and processed locally in Peru.

Alpaca is the only wool that does not contain lanolin, making it hypoallergenic. In addition, this fiber requires no chemical treatment, bleaching or dyeing. If we need a particular color, we use natural pigments.

It is to offer you exceptional softness and unique quality that our products are primarily made from Baby Alpaca fiber.

STYLING

Meanwhile, in Brussels, the BellePaga team works on the design and creation of your product.

Several steps make up the styling process: research and analysis of current trends, creation of an elegant and timeless design, selection of the designs to keep, receiving product prototypes, and finally, launching production in Peru!

MANUFACTURING

We work with small-scale workshops made up of Peruvian artisans with extensive expertise in weaving this fiber.

We ensure the well-being and fair compensation of every worker involved in making our products.

MEET LOCAL ARTISANS

The BellePaga team travels to Peru once a year to ensure the quality of your products and the conditions in which local artisans work.

This trip to Peru is also a time when Arnaud reconnects with the culture of his childhood. Breathtaking landscapes, encounters with the alpacas of the Andes Mountains, connections with Peruvian weavers and all the local artisans involved in making your product: a crucial moment in the production process.

TRANSPORT TO BELGIUM

Once the collection has been fully manufactured, it is shipped from Peru to Brussels.

We always minimize the number of shipments as much as possible and try to prioritize the most environmentally friendly means of transport.

RECEIVING THE COLLECTION

Once the collection has been received in Brussels, the BellePaga team checks that each product matches the original prototype: quality, dimensions, colors, shape and composition. If everything is compliant, photoshoots are organized to promote these products on social media and our website, but above all, to win the hearts of the BellePaga community.

OUR STORES

Our collection is then available for purchase through our website, our store in Brussels, our partner stores across Europe and at our various events.

SHIPPING TO YOUR HOME

For orders placed on our website, our team takes care of shipping your product. We always pack it with care, then send it to your address and make sure it is delivered safely.

DISCOVERING YOUR PRODUCT

A few days after placing your order, your product is in your hands, and you discover the comfort, softness and warmth of our Baby Alpaca wool. Warm and cozy in your cocoon, you are ready to face any situation, in winter or summer. Your product will accompany you for many years, providing unparalleled well-being.

Through this story, “Where does my BellePaga product come from?”, you can see that the production process of our products is part of a short, ethical and sustainable supply chain. BellePaga has chosen to rely on ancestral production techniques and the quality of Peruvian alpaca wool. Your comfort is at the heart of our concerns. That is why we pay particular attention to every stage of our production process.
